The card for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event has grown with the addition of a major championship match featuring the newly crowned queens of the tag team division.
During today’s episode of Raw on January 12, it was confirmed that WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley will defend their titles against the Judgment Day duo of Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. The match is set for the January 24 special at the Centre Bell in Montreal, just one week before the Royal Rumble.
The issue began at the top of the show when SKY and Ripley, who captured the titles from The Kabuki Warriors last week, opened Raw to address the fans. Their celebration was short-lived, as they were interrupted by a parade of potential challengers: Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, the team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and the former champions Asuka and Kairi Sane.
To determine the number one contenders, a triple threat tag team match was booked for later in the night. In a chaotic encounter that highlighted the depth of the division, Morgan and Perez emerged victorious, pinning their opponents to punch their ticket to Montreal.
This defense marks the first major test for the powerhouse team of “Rhiyo” (Ripley and SKY). Facing a cohesive unit like Morgan and Perez—who have the backing of the Judgment Day faction—poses a significant threat to their fledgling reign. With Saturday Night’s Main Event serving as the final major stop before Saudi Arabia, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
