With the second season of WWE Unreal set to drop on Netflix tomorrow, January 20, the roster is once again preparing for the curtain to be pulled back. The docuseries, which premiered in July 2025, offers an unfiltered look at the lives of WWE Superstars, a concept that still creates friction between modern entertainment demands and traditional wrestling philosophy. Speaking with ChiefsWire, Becky Lynch offered her honest perspective on the show, admitting that while it conflicts with her “old school” instincts, she recognizes its value to the fanbase.
Lynch acknowledged that for performers who were trained to protect the business, a show like Unreal can feel unnatural. However, she noted that if she were looking at the product from the outside in, she would be obsessed with it.
“Yeah, I mean, there’s that old school mentality that I think is in both of us, where we feel a little bit sheltered and a little bit uncomfortable letting it all out there. But I also think that as a fan, I would have loved to see this. This would have been my dream. So, wrestling has gone through different stages, and right now we are in the midst of everybody knowing that it’s story lines, that it’s entertainment, and however else we can service them in entertainment.”
Lynch isn’t the only top star grappling with the show’s existence. Her husband, Seth Rollins, has previously described having a “really difficult relationship” with the intrusive nature of the series. Conversely, stars like Chelsea Green have argued that the show is essential to “push the industry forward” and attract new eyes to the product. With all five episodes of Season 2 releasing simultaneously, fans will soon decide if the uncomfortable access is worth the price of admission.
