A recent match on AAA’s debut broadcast on Fox took a serious turn when a WWE superstar was forced to break character mid-match to ensure his safety. The masked luchador known as “El Grande Americano”—portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser—was facing El Hijo del Vikingo when a high-risk spot led to a tense moment that was picked up by ringside microphones.
“Tell Him To Be Careful”
During the bout, Vikingo executed a move that involved standing on his opponent’s neck. Immediately following the spot, the usually composed Kaiser broke from his Spanish-speaking “Lucador” persona and shouted at the referee in English.
“Tell him to be careful with my neck for f*** sake.”
The slip was notable not just for the profanity, but because it exposed the man behind the mask. Kaiser, who typically speaks German or Spanish for the character, reverted to English in the heat of the moment. Unfortunately, the warning appeared to go unheeded, as Vikingo followed up the sequence by landing a stiff kick directly to Americano’s neck. The clip has since gone viral on social media, sparking debate about in-ring safety and communication between talent from different promotions.
