Bayley has been a cornerstone of the WWE women’s division for nearly 15 years, evolving from the “Hugger” in NXT to the “Role Model” on the main roster. During a recent appearance on the Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred podcast, the Grand Slam Champion opened up about the secret to her remarkable longevity, attributing it to a borderline obsession with the craft.
The “Sickening”
When asked how she has maintained her success over a decade and a half, Bayley pointed to an intense passion she shares with the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
“A little bit of luck and little bit of craziness, because I’m crazy in love with this. Cody and I call it — I always get it wrong — but I think we call it a ‘sickening.’ We have a sickening for this. Wrestling as a whole is ever-changing, and you never stop growing… I feel like I’m constantly evolving and constantly having to keep up.”
New Goals: IC and US Titles
Despite having won nearly every accolade available to her, Bayley revealed she still has a checklist of goals. Specifically, she has her sights set on the newly introduced mid-card championships for the women’s division.
“Luckily, there’s always something more that you want to accomplish. We have two brand new titles still: the Women’s Intercontinental title, the Women’s United States Championship. So those are two more things I would love to accomplish.”
Rejuvenated by Lyra Valkyria
Currently, Bayley is finding fresh motivation in the tag team division on Raw alongside Lyra Valkyria. She credited the former NXT Women’s Champion with revitalizing her passion at this stage in her career.
“I feel very rejuvenated being in a team with her… She just has a special soul and heart for this that I feel like I need in my career, at this point in my career… I’m just lucky that they still want me around and I’m in a position where I can help people.”
Both women are confirmed entrants for the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Looking further ahead, Bayley expressed interest in eventually opening her own wrestling school and working behind the scenes in WWE once her in-ring days are finally behind her.
