As the promotional machine for the 2026 Royal Rumble kicks into high gear, WWE superstar Seth Rollins stopped by ESPN’s Get Up on Thursday morning to hype the event. Although a shoulder injury will keep him on the sidelines for the historic show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Rollins made it clear that his focus remains squarely on the World Heavyweight Championship—and the man currently holding it. When asked who he hates most in the company right now, Rollins didn’t hesitate to name CM Punk.
Seth Rollins Targets CM Punk And The World Title
Rollins, who was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship due to his injury, had a direct message for the “Best in the World.” “The current World Heavyweight Champion of WWE, the guy who’s holding onto my title, keep it warm, Punk,” Rollins said. “Because when I come back, it’s mine.” The animosity between the two is palpable, setting the stage for a massive collision once Rollins is medically cleared. He noted that he hopes to be back in time for WrestleMania 42 this April, where he also has unsettled business with Bron Breakker and The Vision faction that ousted him.
Despite his inability to compete, Rollins spoke passionately about the opportunities the Royal Rumble presents for the rest of the roster. He compared the event to the Super Bowl, emphasizing the life-changing stakes of the 30-person matches. “The Rumble’s exciting, dude. You got 30 guys, 30 girls, one winner, 29 people getting thrown over the top rope… You punch your ticket to WrestleMania. This is it, this is make or break. It’s our time,” he explained.
Rollins expressed particular excitement about seeing which younger talents would rise to the occasion. “I’m just excited to see which of these young guns, on the women’s side, on the men’s side, steps up, elevates their game, and maybe punches their ticket to the main event of WrestleMania.” With the event airing live on the ESPN app domestically and Netflix internationally, Rollins will be watching closely to see who earns the right to main event the biggest show of the year.
