The road to WrestleMania season also means it is time for wrestling gamers to get excited. WWE and 2K Games officially announced this morning that CM Punk will serve as the cover star for WWE 2K26. This marks a major return for “The Best in the World” to the virtual spotlight, as he also headlines the game’s Showcase mode. The mode will allow players to relive his “rise, rebellion, and return,” featuring iconic matches and “what-if” scenarios against WWE Legends.
Largest Roster Ever And New Match Types Confirmed
Set for release on Friday, March 13, 2K is touting this entry as having the largest roster in franchise history with more than 400 wrestlers and legends. Confirmed names include John Cena, Randy Savage, Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns, and even new signings like Stephanie Vaquer and Blake Monroe. Additionally, TNA crossover star Joe Hendry is included as the pre-order bonus character for the standard edition.
Gameplay is also getting a shake-up with the introduction of four highly requested match types: Inferno, Dumpster, I Quit, and Three Stages of Hell. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with early access beginning March 6 for special edition pre-orders. With the return of GM Mode expected to be expanded and the “Showcase Gauntlet” pushing players to their limits, WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be a heavy hitter.
