On the Thursday, February 5 episode of WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, it was reported that John Cena is not expected to be part of this year’s Hall of Fame class. While no specific reason was given, it is not uncommon for WWE to wait a year or more after a major star’s retirement to give their induction proper spacing and buildup. Given Cena’s status as one of the greatest of all time, the company may be planning a specific spectacle for his eventual induction, possibly in a future year where he can be the sole focus without the immediate shadow of his retirement match.
