Speculation Mounts On Adam Copeland Returning To AEW Dynamite

The tag team division in AEW could be getting a massive injection of star power in the coming weeks. Following the news that Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee—formerly known as The IInspiration in TNA and The IIconics in WWE—have departed TNA Wrestling, rumors are swirling about their next destination. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been “a lot of talk” about the duo signing with AEW.

The IInspiration to AEW?

McKay and Lee recently dropped the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship to The Elegance Brand on Impact‘s debut on AMC before leaving the promotion entirely. With AEW’s women’s division continuing to expand, the addition of a charismatic, established team like The IInspiration would be a significant coup. The pair have a proven track record of entertaining audiences and moving merchandise, making them a natural fit for the company.

Adam Copeland Expected To Return

On the men’s side, speculation is running rampant that “The Rated-R Superstar” is on his way back. Because Adam Copeland has reportedly wrapped up filming for the third season of the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, fans are expecting his imminent return to AEW television. The buzz suggests that Copeland could return as early as next week’s episode of Dynamite.

The specific rumor gaining traction is that Copeland will reunite with his longtime partner and rival, Christian Cage. The speculation posits that Copeland and Cage will enter as the “wild card” team in a number one contender bout against The Young Bucks and The Rascalz. The winner of this high-stakes match would earn a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR. If true, this would mark a major shift in the tag team landscape and reignite one of the most storied partnerships in wrestling history just in time for the road to Revolution.
