The Bella Twins are back on WWE television, and it didn’t take long for reality to blur with fiction. Following their return at the Royal Rumble, Brie and Nikki Bella appeared on the February 2 episode of Raw in Philadelphia. The segment quickly went off-script when the Philadelphia crowd began chanting “Coop,” a reference to Eagles star Cooper DeJean, who is rumored to be dating Nikki Bella. On the latest episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, the Hall of Famers broke down the chaotic promo, comparing it to a scene from their former reality shows.
Nikki Bella: “It Felt Like A Total Bellas Scene”
During the segment, Nikki attempted to garner heat by asking if the fans were booing the Philadelphia Eagles for missing the Super Bowl. Brie then interjected, joking that the crowd was actually yelling “Coop.” Nikki responded by casually poking fun at the relationship rumors, a move that Brie believes might have been a mistake. “I would say you added fuel to the fire by doing that,” Brie told her sister. “Anyone who’s watched Total Divas and Total Bellas, they know you. That was a very Nikki thing for you to do.”
Nikki defended her actions, explaining that she was in a “heel mindset” and trying to react organically to a live crowd. “I wasn’t dissing my Eagles… I just assumed they knew I was a die-hard Eagles fan, so they’re booing the fact that they’re not in the Super Bowl. That’s what heel Nikki does. We have no loyalty,” she explained. However, she admitted that the unscripted banter between the sisters felt familiar. “It felt like a Total Divas, Total Bellas segment/scene… But that’s what makes it fun. That’s what makes live TV fun.”
