The road to Atlanta is heating up for the Black and Gold brand. Following this week’s episode of NXT, the card for the February 24 special at Center Stage is taking shape. The headline news sees Sol Ruca earning a shot at Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship after a chaotic tag team encounter.
Ruca secured the opportunity by pinning Kendal Grey, but the victory wasn’t without controversy. The finish saw Zaria accidentally bump into Ruca, leading to an inadvertent tag. While Zaria prepared to hit an F5 on Wren Sinclair, Ruca capitalized on the confusion to hit the “Sol Snatcher” on Grey for the win. The show closed with champion Jacy Jayne staring down her new challenger, while Zaria looked on, visibly frustrated by the miscommunication.
In other action, Eli Knight defeated Josh Briggs to advance to the finals of the Men’s Speed Championship tournament. He will face Elio LeFleur next week to determine who walks into Atlanta as the challenger for champion Jasper Troy. Meanwhile, Sean Legacy cut a passionate promo challenging Keanu Carver to a match on his “home turf” of Atlanta, looking for retribution after Carver’s backstage rampages.
