The “Best in the World” is officially the center of the virtual wrestling universe. The new Ringside Report for WWE 2K26 has dropped, revealing massive details about this year’s game, which hits shelves on March 13, 2026. As the cover star, CM Punk will headline the Showcase Mode, narrating a journey through his storied career—and beyond.
Unlike previous years, this Showcase won’t just look back; it will explore what could have been. Alongside classic bouts against John Cena (Raw 2013), Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam 2013), and his recent return matches against Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, the mode will feature “Dream Matches.” Confirmed “What If” scenarios include:
Punk also revealed that the mode kicks off with his first-ever WrestleMania main event: the WrestleMania 41 triple threat against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
For players who want the rewards without the historical lesson, Punk announced the new “Gauntlet Mode.” This feature allows players to choose either Punk or AJ Lee to run a gauntlet of 20 consecutive opponents. Successfully clearing the gauntlet unlocks all Showcase content and rewards instantly, offering a streamlined alternative for skilled players.
