The Miz knows a thing or two about being an outsider in WWE, and he sees a lot of himself in Logan Paul. Speaking to The Undertaker on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Miz praised the YouTube star’s rapid adaptation to wrestling. “Logan was the fastest I’ve ever seen anyone pick up WWE in my life… I do feel he’s the future of this business,” Miz declared.
“He’s Doing My Freaking Gimmick!”
However, the “A-Lister” couldn’t help but notice the similarities in their paths. “The funny part is he’s doing my gimmick. My freaking gimmick. And he’s doing it! When he said, ‘Yeah, I’m an outsider,’ I was like, ‘I wonder who the first outsider was!’” Miz joked, referencing his own transition from The Real World to WWE. “I was like, ‘oh man, this dude’s stealing my gimmick.’ And he’s doing a really good job of it too!”
Defending JBL
Miz also addressed the long-standing rumors of JBL being a backstage bully. Surprisingly, Miz defended the Hall of Famer. “JBL gets a lot of flak for bullying… But it wasn’t really him. He was the person who took me aside and said, ‘Hey kid, you’re doing a good job. Keep doing this, this, and this.’” Miz attributed the hazing to mid-card wrestlers trying to protect their spots rather than the top stars like JBL.
