Becky Lynch Reveals She Wants To Win Money In The Bank Briefcase

Becky Lynch is arguably the most decorated female superstar in WWE history, having held every active women’s championship available to her and main-evented WrestleMania. However, there is one specific accolade that has eluded “The Man” throughout her illustrious career. During a recent episode of GQ‘s “The Couples Quiz” alongside her husband Seth Rollins, Lynch opened up about the one gap in her resume: the Money in the Bank briefcase.

When discussing her career achievements, Lynch stated plainly, “I haven’t won Money in the Bank. I’d be a great Money in the Bank winner.” It is a surprising statistic given her dominance at the top of the card. Lynch has competed in five separate Money in the Bank ladder matches, including the inaugural women’s match in 2017, but has never managed to unhook the briefcase. Her most recent attempt occurred in 2023 in London, where IYO SKY ultimately emerged victorious.

Interestingly, while Lynch has never won the contract, she has been involved in one of the most unique cash-ins in history. In 2020, Asuka won the Money in the Bank ladder match, but instead of a contract, the briefcase contained the Raw Women’s Championship. Lynch, who was the champion at the time, had to vacate the title due to her pregnancy and awarded the belt directly to Asuka. While she has technically “given up” the title via the briefcase, she has never had the opportunity to stalk a champion and cash in herself.

The concept of Becky Lynch with the Money in the Bank contract offers fascinating creative possibilities. As a character who has often played the underdog or the confident champion, seeing her navigate the opportunistic nature of the briefcase would add a new layer to her persona. With the Money in the Bank event scheduled for later this year, Lynch has made it clear that adding that briefcase to her trophy room remains a top priority.

Lynch is currently on the road to WrestleMania 42, where storylines are heating up across the board. Whether she enters the title picture directly or sets her sights on the ladder match in the summer, “The Man” remains focused on cementing her legacy as the greatest of all time.
