Roman Reigns has evolved into one of the most compelling talkers in the industry, but he admits he had to earn his spot at the top. In a recent vlog, the “Tribal Chief” opened up about the culture of trash talk in WWE. “We talk s***, and then we find a way to find that solution… nobody who’s been here for a long time has thin skin,” Reigns said. He claimed to be the “slyest” with his verbal jabs, noting that he had to “pry this s*** from the grips of the veterans” like John Cena and Randy Orton.
Reigns’ ascent wasn’t always smooth, a fact confirmed by Rusev (Miro) on the Insight podcast. Rusev revealed that the “League of Nations” faction in 2015 was created specifically to help establish Reigns as a babyface. “I think they needed somebody for Roman to be a babyface, and that’s why they put us together,” Rusev explained.
Reigns is now preparing for perhaps the biggest verbal and physical test of his career as he heads to WrestleMania 42. Following his victory in the 2026 Royal Rumble, he is set to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. With both men known for their microphone skills, the promo battles leading up to Las Vegas are expected to be as cutting as the match itself.
