As of this month, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan have officially been an active tag team for three years. Throughout their time together, the duo has defeated countless opponents and successfully captured the Women’s Tag Team Championships on four separate occasions. To reflect on their journey and success, Rodriguez recently appeared on the Inside The Ring podcast by TMZ. During the interview, she spoke at length about her history with Morgan and how they managed to build such a strong bond over the past three years.
Rodriguez explained that their connection dates back further than their time as a televised unit. She recalled meeting Morgan when she first arrived at the Performance Center, noting that Morgan was one of the coaches sitting in the ring introducing the new recruits. According to Rodriguez, Morgan has not changed at all since that initial meeting, maintaining the bubbly and charismatic personality that fans see on television. This consistency has made Rodriguez feel like she has known her partner for a decade.
The strength of their partnership was forged through shared adversity. Rodriguez highlighted that building a bond and a sisterhood occurred while both women were dealing with injuries and time away from the ring for various reasons. They consistently supported each other during those absences. Rodriguez believes their mutual persistence and determination are the core reasons their partnership succeeded. When the creative team initially paired them together, they viewed it as a temporary assignment but committed to making it work for that specific day.
As the company continued to book them together, their mindset shifted toward long-term improvement. Rodriguez stated that they began asking themselves how they could elevate the act and convince the audience to truly invest in them as a cohesive unit. By putting in the required effort behind the scenes, they started to mesh and meld together, transforming a makeshift pairing into a four-time championship team.
Fast forward to February 2026, and their on-screen sisterhood is currently facing one of its toughest tests. Despite Rodriguez’s glowing comments about their bond, Morgan unceremoniously eliminated her from the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match before going on to win the entire event. Morgan recently had to justify the elimination on Raw, leaving their alliance on shaky ground as she navigates a tense WrestleMania program with Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Meanwhile, Rodriguez is fighting to carve out her own path to Las Vegas, recently battling Vaquer in a brutal Philly Street Fight and openly campaigning to bring back her signature motorcycle entrance for a potential WrestleMania moment.
