Last year, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was involved in a severe 100 MPH car accident that resulted in legal charges. The incident took place during the summer, but visual evidence of the aftermath has only just become available to the public. Bodycam footage capturing the interactions between law enforcement and McMahon has now been released.
The accident occurred on Thursday, July 24, 2025, on Route 15 in Westport, Connecticut. McMahon’s Bentley Continental GT Speed was one of three vehicles involved in the collision. The US Sun and the Connecticut State Police recently released the footage from a State Trooper who approached McMahon’s damaged vehicle.
The responding trooper immediately addressed the high rate of speed involved in the incident. “I’m trying to catch up to you, and you keep taking off. You almost hit, I think, 115 miles an hour,” the trooper told McMahon. The 80-year-old former wrestling executive assured the officer that he was not intentionally trying to outrun the authorities.
McMahon sat in the driver’s seat of his car with the airbags deployed around him. He explained to the trooper that he was traveling to visit his granddaughter for her birthday. “I’m trying to drive. I haven’t been driving my car in God knows how long. God d**n it. Stupid f****ng fool,” McMahon said while handing over his required insurance papers.
He continued to express frustration over his handling of the vehicle. “I haven’t driven this car in quite some time,” he stated, adding that the luxury supercar was simply “too fast.” Authorities allege that McMahon’s $300,000 vehicle hit 100 MPH before slamming heavily into the guardrail, sending debris flying over the roadway.
During the chaotic sequence, McMahon also rear-ended a BMW driven by Barbara Doran. Despite the severity of the crash, McMahon refused medical attention at the scene. He asked the trooper if anyone else had been injured before walking over to Doran and personally apologizing to her for the collision.
Following the investigation, McMahon was formally charged with reckless driving and following too closely, resulting in an accident. He subsequently appeared in court in October 2025 to address the charges. During that hearing, he was asked to donate $1,000 to charity and to drive lawfully moving forward.
The presiding judge also ruled that McMahon could enter a specialized pretrial program. This program requires him to drive properly licensed and insured in the future. If he successfully completes the program, the charges against him could ultimately be dropped.
While McMahon handles his legal matters away from the wrestling industry, WWE continues to navigate its busiest season of the year. The company is currently building storylines for the upcoming Elimination Chamber event. Following that show, all focus will shift to WrestleMania 42, which takes place on April 18 and 19.
