WWE regularly secures the rights to new intellectual property as they prepare to introduce fresh characters to their programming. After recently registering several trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the company has once again filed for a new batch of potential wrestler names. These filings often indicate that new talent will soon debut on television.
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, WWE officially filed to trademark the names CJ Valor, Santi Rivera, and Romeo Moreno. The legal documentation outlines a wide array of intended uses for these specific names. The official description provided in the filing covers multiple avenues of sports entertainment.
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
The company did not stop there with their legal preparations for the week. On Friday, February 20, WWE also filed to trademark the name Kai Kavari alongside the other potential in-ring monikers. These names are typically assigned to recent recruits training at the Performance Center before they make their initial appearances on NXT.
Whether these names will be given to a new babyface or a villainous heel remains to be seen. WWE had also previously trademarked phrases like WWE Eras Collide, WWE Generations, and WWE Domination. Those specific phrases were secured for video game purposes rather than for active roster members.
The promotion also recently trademarked the names Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux. It was later revealed that Tristan Angels is the new assigned in-ring name for Nathaniel Cranton. The trademark process is a routine but essential part of the wrestling business.
As the company finalizes these new identities, the current main roster is preparing for a major stadium event. WWE fans are looking forward to the Elimination Chamber premium live event, which takes place on February 28, 2026, in Chicago. The results of that event will directly shape the card for WrestleMania 42, scheduled for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
