The Women’s Elimination Chamber Match officially took place at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event. The broadcast aired live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Six female competitors stepped inside the unforgiving steel structure to battle for a championship opportunity. The participants included Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, and Raquel Rodriguez.
The match began with Tiffany Stratton and Kiana James locked inside the ring. They both traded quick pin attempts as they tried to score a very early elimination.
Stratton gained the upper hand and hit a suplex on the steel floor of the chamber. She then attempted a gymnastics maneuver but missed her target completely.
Stratton ended up crashing onto one of the plexiglass pods. Asuka was the next competitor to enter the bout at number three.
She brought her signature striking offense to the steel structure. Alexa Bliss came in at number four to join the fray and change the dynamic.
During this chaotic period, Stratton was forcefully launched into a pod by her opponents. Rhea Ripley entered the match at number five.
The popular babyface immediately went for her signature finisher on Bliss. Bliss managed to hold onto the steel fence to avoid the move.
Bliss later climbed the structure and executed a dive off the top of the pod onto the other women below. As the match continued, Asuka sprayed her green mist directly into the eyes of Bliss.
Taking full advantage of the situation, James rolled up the blinded Bliss for the very first elimination of the contest. Raquel Rodriguez was the final person to come out of her pod and enter the bout.
Rodriguez used her size advantage to smash James right through one of the plexiglass pods. She then hit her finisher on both James and Asuka at the exact same time.
This double maneuver resulted in the immediate elimination of both competitors. Rodriguez then trapped Rhea’s leg into the steel fence to neutralize the threat.
Tiffany went for a diving attack, but she was caught by Rodriguez in mid-air. Tiffany reversed the dangerous catch with a quick hurricanrana.
Rodriguez quickly recovered and knocked her opponent down with a big boot to the face. Rhea broke free from the fence and hit a cannonball off the top of the pod onto Rodriguez.
Tiffany followed up with her moonsault finisher for the pinfall elimination of Rodriguez. The match came down to Stratton and Ripley as the final two competitors in the cage.
Stratton went for her finisher to try and win the match. Rhea pushed her into the pod to stop the momentum.
Rhea then hit her own finisher to secure the pinfall and the victory. The match ended with Rhea Ripley standing tall in the center of the ring.
The WWE fans in Chicago cheered loudly for the victory. She has now officially earned a championship match at the biggest show of the year.
Rhea Ripley is expected to face WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42. The two-night event will take place in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, where Ripley will look to capture the gold.
