The Role Model is currently navigating a period of professional uncertainty as the biggest event of the year rapidly approaches. Bayley has opened up about feeling stuck on the road to WrestleMania 42, as her specific direction for the big event remains entirely unclear. She has been a mainstay of the division for over a decade, but the current creative landscape has left her without a definitive path.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have teamed for several months on WWE television, forming a unique bond between a veteran and a rising star. They have been constantly asking Raw General Manager Adam Pearce for a Women’s Tag Team Title shot to prove their worth. However, both women recently failed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match in Chicago, which was a significant blow to their momentum.
During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bayley shared her honest thoughts on the current situation. She admitted that she feels more anxious and furious than nervous after missing the previous year’s show. She was a healthy scratch for WrestleMania 41 in 2025 and is desperate to avoid seeing another major opportunity slip away from her.
She remains a firm believer that there is still hope for a tag team opportunity with Lyra before the roster travels to Nevada. Bayley called it a story they have pushed since last year that was unfairly taken from them due to unforeseen circumstances. She added that a WrestleMania tag match would represent a full-circle moment for their partnership.
Despite the recent string of high-profile losses, she is focused on reacting positively to the adversity. She wants to make the most of whatever is placed in front of her by the writing staff. For now, Bayley sees her partnership with Lyra as the absolute best path to finally earning a meaningful spot on the WrestleMania 42 card.
The two superstars will have a major opportunity to change their fortunes on the upcoming March 9 episode of Monday Night Raw. Both Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are scheduled to compete in a high-stakes Women’s Intercontinental Championship number one contender’s gauntlet match. They will face off against IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Ivy Nile for the right to challenge AJ Lee. Meanwhile, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is currently held by The Irresistible Forces, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, who captured the gold from Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY this past February. A victory in the gauntlet or a sudden surge in the tag division could be exactly what Bayley needs to secure her place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19.
