WWE has officially confirmed that WrestleMania 42 will feature a significant shift in its broadcast schedule for the upcoming Las Vegas residency. The two-night spectacle is officially scheduled to begin at 6 PM ET each evening. This represents a one-hour shift from previous years to accommodate a massive new television partnership.
For the first time in history, the opening hour of both nights will be available on basic cable to reaching a much wider audience. On Saturday, April 18, the first sixty minutes will air live on ESPN2. On Sunday, April 19, the opening hour of the broadcast will transition to the flagship ESPN channel.
Following the conclusion of these introductory hours, the full event will transition exclusively to the ESPN Unlimited streaming service in the United States. International fans will be able to stream both nights in their entirety on Netflix. This distribution strategy is designed to drive more casual viewers toward the company’s new digital home.
WrestleMania 42 will take place at the state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue is expected to host over 140,000 fans across the two-night event. The championship landscape for the weekend is already taking a very specific shape as the roster finalizes their paths to the stadium.
The confirmed match card currently features four massive title bouts that will headline the weekend. Roman Reigns will challenge CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a highly anticipated main event. Reigns earned this high-stakes opportunity by outlasting twenty-nine other superstars in the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
On the women’s side, Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan has officially chosen to challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the WWE Women’s World Championship. Additionally, the Undisputed WWE Championship will be on the line as Randy Orton challenges Drew McIntyre. This match was officially made after Orton secured a victory in the Men’s Elimination Chamber in Chicago.
The card also features a physical clash for the WWE Women’s Championship between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley. Ripley earned her title opportunity by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Management is working to ensure that these premiere matchups receive the highest level of promotion on both cable and streaming platforms.
The two-night spectacle in the desert will also feature an open challenge from the legendary Brock Lesnar. As the spring season accelerates, the writing team is expected to add several more high-profile matches to the lineup. The WWE fans in Las Vegas are ready for a historic weekend that will redefine the legacy of the grandest stage of them all.
