Will Ospreay is officially one step closer to making his highly anticipated return to the squared circle. According to a new report from Fightful Select on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Will Ospreay’s recovery from a serious neck injury is progressing very positively. The 32-year-old superstar has reportedly begun working out in the ring ahead of recent AEW events, and internal feedback suggests he is quickly returning to the elite form that defined his early tenure with the company.
Ospreay has been sidelined since undergoing neck surgery for two herniated discs in September 2025. The injury occurred during his high-profile clash at Forbidden Door London last August, and he was written out of television storylines shortly thereafter to accommodate the necessary recovery time. While initial fears suggested he could be out for a full year, the latest updates indicate a much more optimistic timeline for the British standout.
“Things look very promising for him to return to form as it relates to the level he was competing at before,” the report noted. Management is reportedly hopeful that the former International Champion could be factored into creative plans as early as this spring. This would align with AEW CEO Tony Khan’s recent comments that Ospreay’s rehabilitation has been going “very, very well” following his surgery in late 2025.
The ultimate goal for Ospreay is to be a featured part of this summer’s AEW All In: London, which is officially scheduled to return to Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Ospreay received a hero’s welcome at the venue in previous years, and his presence is considered vital for the promotion’s third takeover of the historic London arena. Tickets for the massive bank holiday weekend show are set to go on sale to the public on Friday, March 20, 2026.
During his time away from the ring, Ospreay has remained connected to the industry by serving as a producer and member of the creative team for Pro-Wrestling: EVE. He also made a surprise appearance at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 this past January, where he told the Tokyo Dome crowd that he could “see the light at the end of the tunnel” regarding his health. His return would significantly shake up a main event scene currently dominated by AEW World Champion MJF and his rivals Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, and “Hangman” Adam Page.
As the spring season approaches, the focus shifts to when the “Assassin” will officially reclaim the air. Ospreay was spotted backstage at the January 21 tapings in Orlando to undergo a formal medical evaluation, and he has since been featured in vignettes teasing his comeback. The WWE fans and AEW audience alike are eager to see if he can reach 100% in time for the road to Wembley this August.
