Despite the dip in numbers, SmackDown finished as the second highest-rated program on cable for the night, trailing only the NBA on ESPN. The show remains a dominant force in the Friday night television landscape.
The digital reach for the March 6 episode was led by the historic main event. The full match video of Cody Rhodes reclaiming the Undisputed WWE Title from Drew McIntyre has already amassed over 1.5 million views on YouTube. This massive number indicates that while the live viewership saw a decline, the interest in the championship landscape remains at an all-time high.
Other top-performing videos on YouTube included Randy Orton hitting Trick Williams with an RKO (608K views) and Rhea Ripley’s physical confrontation with Jade Cargill (449K views). The Tag Team Turmoil match that saw Damian Priest and R-Truth become number one contenders drew 359,000 views, while Oba Femi’s destruction of Johnny Gargano rounded out the top five with 298,000 views.
Management remains focused on the road to WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The two-night stadium show on April 18 and 19 is expected to drive a significant increase in both linear and digital viewership as the marquee matches are finalized.
