The “American Nightmare” is officially balancing his duties as the face of the company with his role as a dedicated father of two. Cody Rhodes and his wife, Brandi Rhodes, welcomed their second daughter, Leilani Ella Runnels, in August 2025. While the couple previously suggested they were finished having children, Cody recently admitted that the door isn’t completely closed on expanding the Rhodes household once again.
During a deep-dive interview with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes was asked directly about his future family plans. He revealed that his perspective on parenting has evolved significantly over the years, noting that he and Brandi originally didn’t plan on having children at all before the arrival of their first daughter, Liberty, in 2021.
“Having another? I think it’s a hard definitely not, but it was also a definitely not when we said we weren’t going to have kids. Then we had Liberty,” Rhodes explained. He shared that even after their first child, they were hesitant to go further, only to find themselves falling in love with the idea of a second daughter.
“Then it was definitely not again—one is good. Then it became, how could we not?” Rhodes continued. Now that the family has grown to a household of four, the Undisputed WWE Champion says he is happy with where things stand, but he has learned never to say never when it comes to the future.
“So how many? I’m good. It’s not really in my control there. Two is amazing, but who knows? I can’t say definitely not when it comes to that,” he concluded. For now, the champion is focused on his two daughters, Libby and Lani, while preparing for a historic main event defense at WrestleMania 42 in the Nevada desert.
As the road to Las Vegas reaches its final stop, the Rhodes family remains one of the most beloved units in the industry. Brandi shared the news of Leilani’s birth last year with a heartfelt message: “Welcome to the world Leilani Ella Runnels. We are in love. Thank you God for answered prayers.” Whether a third child is in the cards for the future remains to be seen, but the “Golden Boy” of the modern era appears to be enjoying every second of his journey as a “Girl Dad.”
