Angel Garza has been direct about why he chose to stay with WWE rather than bet on himself elsewhere — it comes down to money and family.
Following Los Garza’s loss to Damian Priest and R-Truth on last Friday’s SmackDown, Garza engaged with fans on social media about the group’s position in WWE. When a fan questioned why he re-signed rather than heading to Arena Mexico, Garza’s answer was blunt: “But making 1/10 of the money… because life isn’t just about wrestling. I’m a man, a father, and I’ll fight for my family’s future no matter what.”
The exchange also touched on what Los Garza need to break through with crowds. A fan suggested the team find a signature moment — a sound, a taunt, something that generates organic crowd interest. Garza acknowledged the challenge but framed it as a resource issue. “That’s either give you a cool thing like music, or have constant time on TV to be able to have that connection,” he said.
Despite the frustrations that come with limited exposure on television, Garza showed no signs of regret about his decision to remain with WWE. His comments paint a picture of a performer who is clear-eyed about the financial realities of the wrestling business and committed to providing for his family — even if the creative situation isn’t always ideal.
