Dominik Mysterio did not appear on Monday Night Raw after being declared medically unfit following his AAA appearance this past weekend. According to Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, Mysterio is in concussion protocol, which forced a last-minute change to the Raw card. “Dom vs. Dragon Lee was scheduled for Raw but it appears Dom is in concussion protocol,” Alvarez reported.
With Mysterio unable to compete, the originally planned match against Dragon Lee was replaced by an Intercontinental Championship match between Penta and Dragon Lee. The Judgment Day as a whole had been advertised to appear on Raw to address their assault on Finn Balor and his removal from the group — that segment was also impacted by Mysterio’s absence.
In place of the group’s scheduled appearance, Liv Morgan appeared via video to explain the situation herself. Morgan said it had always been her plan to remove Balor from Judgment Day since she joined the group, stating he was never truly in charge and had always been on borrowed time. She added that she was aware of his scheming and described watching him fall as a pleasure, insisting the group is better than ever without him.
Mysterio’s injury occurred around the time of his AAA Rey de Reyes appearance on Sunday, where he successfully defended the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo. Under the match’s stipulation, Vikingo can no longer challenge for the Mega title as long as Mysterio holds it. Had Mysterio lost, he would have been forced to leave AAA permanently.
