Oba Femi is not lacking in confidence — and at 27, he has every reason to back it up. Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Femi addressed the possibility of winning a main roster championship in the near future and left no room for doubt about how he sees the situation playing out.
“I think the odds are very high. They’re stacked in my favor. I’m young, I’m spry, I’m ready to go. I’m hungry — hungrier than a lot of these 47-year-olds, I’ll tell you that,” Femi said. “So I think we’re going to see that happen very soon.” He placed himself alongside Bron Breakker and Dominik Mysterio as part of a new wave of young talent ready to take over, while making pointed comments about the veterans ahead of him. “Father Time always wins. A lot of them are 44, 45, 46. They’re on their way out. So this is the time for someone like ‘The Ruler’ to come in and take their place.”
Femi Points to NXT Body of Work as Proof WWE’s Trust in Him Is Well Earned
A former NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion, Femi argues that his track record speaks for itself. “I’ve built trust with them. I’ve built equity in NXT with everything I did with the NXT Championship — all those classic matches I had. I feel like when they’ve seen the body of work, they’re like, ‘Okay, we have something here.'” Femi answered Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 open challenge on Raw this week, powerbombing Lesnar and pointing at the WrestleMania sign — though a match has not yet been officially confirmed.
