Tom Brady has dismissed the idea that any WWE wrestler could sack him in a football game, calling professional wrestling scripted and suggesting NFL offensive linemen would make short work of any opponent from the world of sports entertainment.
Speaking with SI.com, Brady was asked how many WWE wrestlers it would take to bring him down. He did not hold back. “You know, all their stuff is so cute and scripted and they know what’s going on,” Brady said. “In a football game, you don’t know, so they wouldn’t even get near me. Plus, if I had a good offensive line, they’d punch those guys right in the throat and they’d be probably crying. And you know, there’s no fake BS we do in American football. So for those guys, it’d be a whole different story for them.”
The comments are notable given Brady’s existing relationship with the professional wrestling world. In February 2026, Brady appeared alongside WWE superstar Logan Paul while the two discussed the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. Brady and Paul have maintained a public connection through various sports and entertainment crossover events.
Brady is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in NFL history, having won seven Super Bowl championships across his career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring in 2023. His comments are likely to generate a response from WWE talent given the directness of the remarks.
WWE has not responded to Brady’s comments at the time of publication.
