Marie Malenko Officially Signs With WWE Following Performance Center Tryout

The “Man of 1,000 Holds” officially has a successor in the Stamford-based promotion. BodySlam+ reports that Marie Malenko, the daughter of wrestling legend Dean Malenko, has officially signed a developmental contract with WWE. The news comes just one month after she made her professional wrestling debut and participated in a high-profile tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Marie represents the third generation of the legendary Malenko wrestling family, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, Boris Malenko. She recently showcased her technical prowess during a short stint with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan before returning to the United States for her WWE evaluation. Management was reportedly “very impressed” with her natural aptitude for the business and her technical skill set, leading to a quick contract offer as the company bolsters its NXT ranks for the spring season.
