Nikki Bella is navigating post-divorce life on her own terms — and she’s being candid about how difficult that process has been when every step she takes gets scrutinized publicly. Speaking on Pod Meets World on March 25, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about the unique frustrations of trying to date when simply being seen with someone turns into a headline.
“It’s hard to date in the industry because if you go on a date with someone, all of a sudden you see headlines like, ‘They’re together!’ They’re always saying these things,” Bella said. “Why can’t I just experience people like everyone else does without people automatically assuming we’re together? That’s been hard.”
She also made it clear that despite being open to connection, the reality of her current situation is far quieter than the speculation suggests. “I’m not ready for anything serious at all. It’s nice to have attention from a man, sweet text messages — I don’t have anything like that right now.”
Nikki Stands Firm on Protecting Son Matteo Despite Online Criticism
The conversation also touched on a September 2025 comment that drew significant backlash — Nikki’s declaration that she wouldn’t introduce anyone she dates to her son Matteo for “years and years.” Rather than walking it back, she doubled down while addressing the contradiction in how women get judged either way. “As a woman, if you introduce a bunch of men to your kid, you’re bad. I’m now a woman who has red flags because I’m choosing not to introduce someone to my kid.” For Nikki, both battles — navigating public scrutiny and protecting her son — are being fought entirely on her own timeline.
