Rob Van Dam is still going strong at 55, having returned to the ring in February after missing nearly a year with a heel injury — and he’s keeping all options open when it comes to a potential WWE return. Speaking to TMZ Inside The Ring, RVD made it clear the door is not closed.
“I am open to considering anything. That’s part of being open-minded, trying not to shut anything out without at least considering it. When it comes to something like that, they have my number, and they can talk to me. I’ll be appearing at WWE World. We can definitely have that conversation,” RVD said. He last wrestled for WWE in 2014.
When pressed specifically on a retirement tour, RVD pushed back on the concept rather than the idea of returning. “The way I feel now is that I don’t like the idea of labeling something as ‘retirement.’ I don’t want to know if I’m having my last match, when I am.” His appearance at WWE World suggests lines of communication remain open — and at 55 years old with over three decades in the business, RVD clearly isn’t ready to close any doors just yet.
