WWE is pushing hard to fill Allegiant Stadium for WrestleMania 42, offering a 25% discount on tickets for both nights of the event as well as Raw, SmackDown, and the Hall of Fame ceremony. The move comes after a previous 31.6% sale on the same events, as the company works to ensure the venue is at capacity when the show of shows arrives on April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, current ticket numbers show WrestleMania 42 is tracking behind last year’s pace. “Right now after the latest sale, WrestleMania in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium has 39,866 for 4/18 and 41,330 for 4/19. They are 13.3 percent behind last year, which is closer than the 18 percent behind they were doing before the two major sales,” Meltzer reported.
The surrounding events are also showing slower movement than expected. SmackDown at T-Mobile Arena has distributed 5,810 tickets, Raw sits at 7,305, and the Hall of Fame ceremony — in a smaller venue — is at 2,183. Secondary market get-in prices for both WrestleMania nights are down 23.8% compared to the same period last year, which Meltzer noted is “probably a better measure of ticket demand.” Despite the current figures, Meltzer expects final attendance to exceed 50,000 and for WWE to announce a number comparable to or slightly larger than last year’s event.
