Stevie Richards Calls WWE’s $10K Cody Rhodes Bus Tour a “Scam”

Stevie Richards has come out swinging against WWE‘s $9,950 Cody Rhodes Bus Tour experience for WrestleMania 42 week, taking to his YouTube channel to break down exactly why he believes the premium offering crosses a line from fan experience into exploitation.

“How does being on Cody Rhodes’ tour bus in downtown Las Vegas give you any sense of WrestleMania?” Richards said. “The only thing that is definitely set in stone is probably the price and a brief one-on-one interaction with Cody. For 10 grand, you get a brief one-on-one meeting with Cody Rhodes where a professional tour guide is going to be talking the entire way. So you can’t really talk to Cody on his own bus. All of you are just going to be looking at one to two Las Vegas landmarks. You’re sat on a bus looking out the window.”

Stevie Richards Says WWE’s WrestleMania Premium Experiences Target the Company’s Most Loyal Fans

Richards reserved his sharpest criticism for what he sees as the deliberate targeting of WWE’s most devoted audience. “It feels like exploiting the people they know they’ve got — the super hardcore fans who will splurge this one time a year. Targeting people who feel loyal. It’s a scam.” He also pointed out the absurdity of the Las Vegas landmarks angle specifically. “Aren’t there actually tour buses to take you around Vegas to the landmarks for a lot less than that?” The Cody Rhodes Bus Tour has been one of several high-priced WrestleMania 42 experiences generating scrutiny, alongside the already-reported $37,500 Elite packages. With ticket sales already reportedly trailing last year’s pace, the premium experience strategy appears designed to offset broader attendance concerns with ultra-premium offerings targeting the most dedicated fans.
