IShowSpeed is in line for a WrestleMania 42 match — and his inadvertent involvement in Monday’s WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden served as the booking domino that set everything in motion. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a six-man tag team match is expected to be booked for the Show of Shows that would see Speed team with Logan Paul and Austin Theory against LA Knight and The Usos.
Speed’s involvement began when he accidentally struck LA Knight with brass knuckles during the World Tag Team Championship match on Raw, inadvertently helping The Vision defeat The Usos to capture the titles. Paul Heyman subsequently promised Speed that Logan Paul and Austin Theory would have his back against the vengeful Usos — effectively pulling him into the faction’s orbit for WrestleMania weekend.
IShowSpeed’s Only Previous Wrestling Match Was a Brief Royal Rumble Appearance in 2025
Meltzer noted that the plans could still change depending on Speed’s readiness heading into the event. “If Speed isn’t ready, they could do a tag match with Knight and Speed in the corners, but right now, it’s the trios match that is on the match listing,” he reported. Speed’s only previous in-ring experience came during the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, where he briefly entered the match before being eliminated by a devastating Bron Breakker spear. A six-man tag format would help mask his inexperience by limiting his in-ring time while allowing the five more seasoned performers around him to carry the workload.
The addition of Speed to the WrestleMania 42 card reflects WWE‘s ongoing strategy of incorporating mainstream celebrities and online personalities into major events. With 12 matches currently booked and reports suggesting as many as 16 could be on the final card when WrestleMania 42 goes live from Allegiant Stadium on April 18, there is room for the six-man tag to find its place across the two-night event.
