Brie Bella Calls Out the Leak That Ruined Paige’s WrestleMania 42 Surprise: “I’m Gonna Find That Stooge”

Brie Bella has publicly called out whoever leaked news of Paige’s WWE return ahead of WrestleMania 42 — and she made clear on the Nikki & Brie Show that she has not forgotten who was around when the information got out. The return was reported by PWInsider before WrestleMania 42 Night One, eliminating the intended surprise of Paige replacing Nikki Bella in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

“The Paige stuff got leaked from a stooge, and I will find out who saw it earlier in the week. You guys, something — just let things be special and a secret. Who runs and tells people?” Brie said. She then broadened her frustration to the culture of breaking wrestling news generally. “I’m talking about people who run to TMZ and saw something they wanna break about someone’s personal life. It’s about clicks and impressions, so they wanna be breaking news. You didn’t break anything.”

Brie closed with a direct warning to whoever was responsible. “It’s actually sad, so look at yourself in the mirror and think about what you will do next time. I’m gonna find that stooge, because I remember everyone who was there.” The leak arrived during a week when WWE had successfully kept Paige hidden in Las Vegas — making the eventual spoiler all the more frustrating for those who had worked to protect the moment.
