WWE Backlash 2026 Results: Reigns Retains, Fatu Snaps

WWE Backlash 2026 is in the books from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, with Roman Reigns retaining the World Heavyweight Championship over Jacob Fatu in the main event. WWE delivered a stacked card highlighted by Bron Breakker beating Seth Rollins, Trick Williams retaining the United States Title, and a major John Cena announcement. Below is a full recap of every match and segment from Backlash 2026, including the chaotic post-match angle from Jacob Fatu that may signal a new direction for The Bloodline saga.

WWE Backlash 2026 Results: Bron Breakker Beats Seth Rollins

The opening contest saw Bron Breakker, accompanied by Paul Heyman, defeat Seth Rollins in a hard-hitting back-and-forth. Rollins took the fight to Breakker early, dumping him to the floor and hitting an outside dive before they brawled around the barricade. Breakker turned the tide by catching a Rollins springboard, planting him on the floor, and unloading with a frankensteiner, gut buster, standing moonsault, and buckle bomb. Outside the ring, Breakker hit a jumping clothesline off the apron, sending both men through the announce table. Rollins answered with a Pedigree and Stomp, and when Heyman climbed the apron to talk trash, Rollins grabbed a chair and took out Logan Paul and Austin Theory at ringside. Back inside, Breakker countered Rollins’ top-rope attempt with a spear and added a second spear for the three count.

Trick Williams Retains United States Title At Backlash 2026

Trick Williams retained the United States Championship over Sami Zayn in a rematch from WrestleMania 42. The two went back and forth early before Williams hit a neck breaker and the Book End for two. Lil Yachty’s distraction backfired when Sami hit Trick with a kendo stick and stomped him on the ground. Yachty struck Sami with a kendo stick of his own, allowing Trick to land a big boot for two. Sami answered with a DDT on the steel steps and a big boot to the back of Yachty’s head, but missed a follow-up boot on Trick. The champion connected with his finisher to retain.

Backlash 2026 Results: Danhausen And Minihausen Win

Danhausen’s mystery partner was revealed to be Minihausen, and the duo defeated The Miz and Kit Wilson in chaotic fashion. Minihausen took an early beating after The Miz sent Danhausen into the ring post, but rallied with a moonsault off the top rope. Danhausen got the hot tag, cleaned house with clotheslines, a German suplex, and a DDT to Miz before hitting his finisher on Wilson. Minihausen tagged himself in, hit a dive to the floor, and brawled to the stage where Wilson put him in the cloning machine — only for it to restart and produce several Minihausens. After Wilson countered Danhausen’s curse with a mirror, The Miz accidentally sprayed Wilson with a fire extinguisher, allowing Danhausen to finish him with a big boot.

IYO SKY Defeats Asuka In Hard-Fought Bout

“We Want Kairi” chants echoed throughout as IYO SKY and Asuka traded control. SKY hit a missile dropkick off the top, a knee strike for two, and a stunner. Asuka countered into an armbar and later locked in a choke that briefly knocked SKY out, but SKY rolled through for a near fall. SKY dropped Asuka, climbed up top, and hit a moonsault for the win. The two embraced after the match.

John Cena Announces “Cena Classic” Tournament

John Cena, in a suit, came to the ring and announced the “John Cena Classic” — a tournament pitting the best of today against the best of tomorrow, with the fans crowning the winner. A new title will debut for the event, and qualifiers will determine the field, with fans able to crown a competitor even if they don’t win their match. No date or location has been confirmed.

Roman Reigns Retains As Jacob Fatu Snaps Post-Match

In the main event, Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship over Jacob Fatu. Fatu no-sold a powerslam, hit a powerbomb through the announce table, and locked in the Tongan Death Grip. Reigns countered with Superman Punches, then hit a spear after escaping the Death Grip for the win. After the match, Fatu attacked the referee, Reigns, agents, and more officials before standing tall over Reigns holding the World Title.
