WWE is focusing on rebuilding its tag team division from within rather than pursuing outside signings, per Bryan Alvarez, who wrote to subscribers on X that the company has little interest in outside tag teams at the moment.
Alvarez wrote: “WWE does not really have much interest in outside tag teams at the time, but there are newly-made teams on TV like Miz and Kit that will remain tag teams, and a few teams in NXT likely called up soon as well.”
The update follows a significant thinning of WWE’s tag division after WrestleMania 42. New Day — Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston — departed after reportedly being asked to take a pay cut less than a year into a five-year deal. The Motor City Machine Guns, every member of the Wyatt Sicks, and Jeff Cobb and Tonga Loa of the MFTs were also among those cut.
