Big E has officially closed the book on his in-ring career, but his legacy in professional wrestling is secure. The former WWE Champion, who has transitioned into a beloved media personality and analyst for the company, recently opened up about how he would like to be immortalized in the WWE Hall of Fame. Speaking in a candid interview with 107.7 The Bone, the powerhouse of positivity revealed that he prioritizes his faction over his individual accomplishments.
“My Time In The New Day Is One I Truly Cherish”
When asked about a potential induction, Big E was clear that while he is proud of his singles run—which includes an NXT Championship reign, two Intercontinental Titles, and a WWE Championship victory—The New Day is where his heart lies. “I feel like I’ve had some really great highs as a singles superstar… But really, I feel like what people know me as, and the time in my career that was really the most rewarding is my time with The New Day,” he explained.
He highlighted the cultural impact of the group, from breaking Demolition’s 20-year-old tag team record to selling a literal cereal box at merchandise stands. “Having Booty-Os, a food product in wrestling, is kind of ridiculous. People still come up to me, I think we released Booty-Os a decade ago. People still fondly remember me as the Booty-Os guy. So if I had to pick one it would be as a member of The New Day because it really changed the trajectory of my career.”
A Friendly Jab At His Partners
Big E also took a moment to playfully roast his longtime partners, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, regarding their recent booking. “Look, if those guys would actually appear on a PLE, if they would be there on one of these things, maybe I would spend more time talking and thinking about them,” he joked. “But I look around, I look at the card, no New Day. Another PLE goes by, no New Day, so what do you want me to do? I just do my job.”
Currently, Big E continues to be a fixture on WWE programming, serving as a host and analyst for Premium Live Event pre-shows. His insight and charisma ensure that even without taking bumps, he remains a vital part of the WWE family as they march toward WrestleMania 42.
