Cody Rhodes has said he would give Gunther a rematch if he wants one, acknowledging the controversial finish to their Clash in Italy title match in Turin on Sunday.
Speaking at the Clash in Italy post-show, Rhodes addressed the ending directly.
“If Gunther wants a rematch, I would do a rematch. I want to beat him clean. The way it ended — I won, that’s what matters. But if he’s got a case, I’m not running from anybody.”
Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship after pinning Gunther with his leg under the rope at the count of three. Gunther protested vigorously, and the finish has already generated significant online discussion about a potential rematch.
