The road to Las Vegas is reaching its final destination before the biggest event of the wrestling calendar year. WWE has officially released the updated lineup for the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event. The show is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 28. It will be broadcasting live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. WWE fans are eager to see how the card takes shape.
The hometown crowd will have plenty of action to cheer for throughout the evening. The card is currently anchored by two championship defenses featuring prominent Chicago natives. WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is set to defend his title against the leader of The Judgment Day, Finn Balor. Punk captured the championship late last year after a lengthy absence. He now faces a heel challenger who is looking to alter the main event picture for the spring.
If Punk retains his championship, he is expected to face 2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns in Las Vegas. Balor has a track record of pulling off upsets on major stages, meaning the champion cannot overlook his opponent. The other Chicago native defending gold at the event is AJ Lee. She will put her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. She faces off against Becky Lynch in a singles match.
Lee and Lynch have a storied history that reignited when Lee returned from her ten-year retirement. Lynch proposed the match to test herself against the veteran babyface. The two competitors have traded verbal barbs over the last few weeks on television. This has set the stage for a competitive encounter in front of a very vocal Illinois audience.
The event will also feature the two traditional steel structure matches with major WrestleMania implications. The Men’s Elimination Chamber match will officially determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship. That title is currently held by Drew McIntyre. The field is almost entirely set, featuring a mix of established veterans and rising stars from the locker room.
Je’Von Evans, LA Knight, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Trick Williams have all officially qualified for the steel cage contest. Only one spot remains open for the men’s chamber. Rhodes enters the match as a favorite for many WWE fans. He will still have to overcome a diverse group of opponents inside the pod to earn his rematch against McIntyre.
The Women’s Elimination Chamber match will also determine a challenger for a world championship at WrestleMania 42. The current lineup includes Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, Rhea Ripley, and Tiffany Stratton. Similar to the men’s match, there is exactly one position left to be filled before the structure is locked and the bell rings. The winner will punch their ticket to Las Vegas.
The final competitors for both chamber matches will be decided on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw. The men’s final qualifier will see Bronson Reed, Jey Uso, and “The Original” El Grande Americano battle in a triple threat match. The women’s division will feature Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, and Raquel Rodriguez fighting for the last remaining spot. In other WrestleMania 42 news, WWE officials are closely monitoring the rehab progress of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. The company hopes both men can be medically cleared in time to compete at the stadium in April.
