The physical toll of professional wrestling was recently highlighted when Chelsea Green announced that she had suffered a broken ankle earlier this month. The sudden news immediately sparked concern among her supporters about an extended absence from the ring. Fortunately, the charismatic star is already making impressive strides in her recovery.
During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Green was asked for a detailed update on her injury status. Salcedo asked, “How are you feeling, by the way? I know with the injury and everything. How are you feeling?”
Green provided an overwhelmingly positive response regarding her health. “Um, I’m healing up much faster than I thought I would be. I’m out of the boot, but only for the fashion,” she joked. She quickly clarified that she should technically still be wearing the protective gear for medical reasons. “I should not be out of the boot.”
She elaborated on the exact nature of the fracture and her outlook. “Um, I chipped my ankle, the side of it. So, it’s painful, but I feel like I got lucky. Like, in terms of a broken ankle, I feel like I got very very very lucky. Thank gosh,” she stated.
While she deals with physical setbacks, Green is no stranger to navigating uncomfortable situations outside the ring. She once found herself at the center of a bizarre misunderstanding ahead of WrestleMania 40 weekend. She was mistakenly identified as an escort while visiting a prestigious venue in New York.
The issue dates back to April 2024. At the time, Green took to X to reveal that she had been removed from The Plaza Hotel after staff allegedly assumed she was an escort based strictly on her outfit. The WWE star was in New York City for a television taping and decided to visit the hotel’s Champagne Bar for a drink.
Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of @FairmontHotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit😵💫

During a recent appearance on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, Green shared more details while speaking to Brandi Rhodes. She noted she was wearing a denim skirt that went above the knee, a white off-the-shoulder top, a long black jacket, and knee-high boots. “We were dressing for the girlies,” Green said.
“They kicked me out because they thought I was an escort, okay. And that all went viral and was a little bit crazy,” she explained. The hotel eventually attempted to make amends for the highly embarrassing mistake. “Then, because of that, the manager of the plaza called me and gave me like a free stay anywhere in the world.”
Green asked to use the voucher in her hometown, but the resolution was poorly handled. “Okay. Well, then I went to go redeem it…it didn’t exist. They were doing me dirty,” she revealed. Fairmont Hotels and Resorts later apologized and offered a two-night stay, but restricted it to Vancouver and claimed it had already expired.
The outspoken competitor continues to push through adversity both inside and outside the arena. Her resilience was tested again on a recent episode of SmackDown during a live broadcast. Green experienced an awkward production blunder when the ring announcer incorrectly introduced her as an active AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion, a title she had already vacated due to her ankle injury.
