The former Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, grew up as a passionate WWE fan before ever stepping into the ring. She previously admitted to having a massive crush on John Cena and being his absolute biggest fan during her younger years. He served as a major inspiration for her career path.
However, the Judgment Day member shocked the world upon her return from injury at the Survivor Series premium live event. She initially teased siding with the legendary babyface against Dirty Dom in a tense segment. She then shockingly turned on The Leader of the Cenation and kicked him below the belt.
Morgan’s villainous actions directly helped her on-screen boyfriend recapture the Intercontinental Title from the WWE legend. The betrayal solidified her status as a top heel on the roster. In a recent interview with Brad Gilmore, Morgan was asked what it meant to her to be given the opportunity to share the ring with Cena at Survivor Series.
The RAW star did not break character as she answered the question for the viewers. Instead, she admitted to being Cena’s biggest supporter growing up, but confessed that her feelings for the 17-time world champion changed drastically after meeting Dominik Mysterio.
“Back in the day growing up a WWE fan, I obviously was a John Cena fan. I was like number one Chain Gang soldier. Loved John Cena,” Morgan explained. She then detailed her shift in perspective. “But then I grew up. I got smarter. I got wiser.”
“I realized that Dominik Mysterio is the real [chef’s kiss gesture] in WWE,” she stated proudly. She relished the opportunity to help her partner secure a massive victory over an established icon in front of a live audience.
“And so, to have that full circle moment, to go from a fan of John Cena to kicking him right in the…, helping Daddy Dom win, regain his championship in his hometown of San Diego, it was so special to me, and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world,” Morgan declared.
She showed zero remorse for her actions against the man she once idolized. “It was an iconic moment for Dominik. It was an iconic moment for me. Maybe not so much for John Cena, but he was in the ring with two superstars, so that should be good enough for him,” she ended.
Morgan has continued to rely on underhanded tactics to achieve her goals within the women’s division. She recently won the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match, guaranteeing herself a championship opportunity. Morgan recently announced on Raw that she will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this April.
