Chelsea Green is opening up about how her appearance on the Netflix docuseries WWE Unreal has positively shifted her career trajectory and audience connection. Speaking to WGN News, Green admitted she didn’t initially expect the show to change much, given that WWE superstars are constantly surrounded by cameras.
“It wasn’t a different day just because a Netflix camera was around,” Green explained. However, as the series progressed, she began to notice a tangible difference. “I felt a little bit of a change in season one, when people kind of started getting behind me. I felt like I was being recognized a little bit more in the airport or at Disney World, and then with season two, it really changed.” Green noted that the support translated directly to live events. “I felt so much love, and especially when I got into the ring for SmackDown, it was like everyone in the crowd had been watching Unreal. It’s almost like we’re rebelling against the machine, the machine being WWE. Everyone is like ‘Well you said she can’t be the top girl, so we’re going to make her the top girl with fandom.'”
