Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez are officially the number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, and Morgan believes their success will come down to her mentorship.
Following their victory in a triple threat match on Monday Night Raw—where they defeated the teams of Asuka & Kairi Sane and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria—the Judgment Day duo appeared on WWE RAW Recap to discuss the win. During the interview, Morgan addressed Perez’s previous run with tag team gold, noting that while her partner has held titles before, she lacked the guidance she has now.
“She did lose the titles rather quickly, and that’s why she’s my young,” Morgan said. “Because now, under my tutelage, she’s going to grow… I am shaping my little Roxy to be the next greatest.”
Morgan went on to say that she is preparing Perez to eventually take the mantle as the “greatest of all time” once Morgan’s own time in the spotlight has passed.
The new partnership faces its biggest test yet on January 24 at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Montreal. They will challenge the dominant new champions, “Rhiyo” (Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY), for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. With Morgan’s “tutelage” and Perez’s in-ring ability, the duo is looking to bring more gold to the Judgment Day.
