The former Women’s Intercontinental Champion is officially opening up about her rapid transition to the global stage. During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast, Maxxine Dupri discussed her status when she originally moved to the main roster back in 2023. She revealed that becoming an active wrestler was not part of the initial plan established by management.
“When I got called up, I was just a manager. I wasn’t like planning to wrestle at that point,” Dupri admitted. “It wasn’t in the cards for me. I mean, I wanted to, but they weren’t planning it for me. So, I wasn’t a threat to anyone. I wasn’t taking anyone’s spot. I was just in this faction ringside.”
Eventually, her natural charisma and dedication to training led to a significant shift in her career, culminating in a successful championship reign. However, the move into the spotlight also brought a new set of personal challenges. Dupri spoke candidly about the mental health difficulties that come with being a public figure in the social media era.
She explained that being away from home and dealing with online criticism can be a daunting experience. She has developed a specific strategy to protect her mental well-being, which involves strictly limiting her time on certain digital platforms. This “numbness” to the industry is something she is still learning to navigate as a young performer.
“The part that’s truly hard is like mentally being away from home… sometimes if I catch a glimpse of something online, I don’t do well with that. So that’s why I got to stay off X,” she detailed. Her honesty regarding these struggles has resonated with many fans who follow her journey on the red brand.
As the road to WrestleMania 42 continues, Dupri remains a featured part of the division. The stadium show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is scheduled for April 18 and 19, 2026, and will likely see her involved in a high-profile capacity. Whether she is competing for gold or supporting her allies, she remains focused on maintaining her mental health while delivering for the global audience this spring.
