The “American Sweetheart” of the women’s division has officially made her choice for the Grandest Stage of Them All. Liv Morgan, the winner of the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, has ended weeks of speculation by confirming she will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42. The announcement has ignited a personal feud that has quickly moved beyond the quest for a title belt.
Morgan earned this high-stakes opportunity by outlasting twenty-nine other superstars in January, eventually eliminating Tiffany Stratton to secure her spot in Las Vegas. While she initially took several weeks to weigh her options between Vaquer and the dominant WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, a fiery confrontation on the February 16 episode of Monday Night RAW ultimately made the decision for her.
During a backstage interview, Vaquer confronted the Rumble winner and delivered a scathing promo in Spanish. The champion did not hold back, hurling personal insults and labeling Morgan a “cheap blonde.” Vaquer further accused Morgan of lacking the courage to stand on her own, claiming she consistently hides behind her partner, Dominik Mysterio, and the collective power of The Judgment Day.
“So much for understanding,” Morgan noted after the segment. Following the heated exchange, she made her decision official on the February 23 broadcast in Atlanta. Morgan stood face-to-face with both champions before suddenly striking Vaquer with a microphone and dropping her with an ObLIVion. She later explained that Vaquer struck a nerve by claiming she hadn’t earned her position in the organization.
The animosity has only intensified on social media as the two stars prepare for their clash in the Nevada desert. Morgan recently sent a direct message to her opponent by sharing a photo of herself training at the WWE Performance Center. The post was a calculated response to Vaquer’s claims that she is lazy or undeserving of her current status at the top of the roster.
“To my biggest hater @Steph_Vaquer Here I am hiding behind my trashy man and sending my friends to do my dirty work for me. I love taking the easy way out. Love, Ignorant, lazy, & cheap blonde Liv,” Morgan wrote on X. This psychological warfare is expected to continue through the March 16 edition of RAW in San Antonio, where the two are scheduled for a final verbal confrontation.
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The event is expected to feature a record-breaking number of women’s matches, with Morgan seeking her third world title reign. While Vaquer has successfully defended her title against legends like Nikki Bella, her encounter with the “Miracle Kid” represents the most dangerous threat to her 150-day reign. The WWE fans are eager to see if Morgan’s hard work at the PC will pay off with a historic win in the “Silver State” this April.
