The confrontation began after Morgan made pointed and personal comments about Vaquer’s mother in Spanish — a deliberate escalation designed to get under the Women’s World Champion’s skin. Vaquer responded physically and briefly had the upper hand before Perez made her surprise return to even the odds for Morgan.
