Alberto El Patron — known to WWE fans as Alberto Del Rio — has been arrested in Mexico on an alleged domestic violence charge, according to a report from Milenio. The arrest took place on April 6 after his girlfriend allegedly called 911 to report an assault.
According to the report, State Civil Guard officers arrived at the scene while the assault was allegedly still taking place. “The woman, who suffered injuries to her face and arms, called 911 to request police assistance. State Civil Guard officers arrived at the scene just as she was being assaulted and found the victim showing signs of violence, so they arrested the assailant,” Milenio reported. El Patron was subsequently handed over to the San Luis Potosí State Attorney General’s Office to face the relevant charges. A mugshot of El Patron has been published online.
Alberto El Patron Has a Prior History of Legal Issues Including Previous Domestic Violence Allegations
This is not the first time El Patron has faced serious legal allegations. He was previously arrested in 2019 on charges related to sexual assault, and he has faced multiple domestic violence allegations throughout his career. El Patron had an extensive in-ring career spanning WWE, AAA, Impact Wrestling, and multiple independent promotions before largely stepping away from active competition in recent years.
