Liv Morgan has eight WrestleMania appearances under her belt — and going into this one, she says she has never felt calmer. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet ahead of her Women’s World Championship match against Stephanie Vaquer on Night One of WrestleMania 42, Morgan described a mindset shaped entirely by the lessons of her shoulder injury recovery — staying present, taking things day by day, and refusing to let the weight of the occasion get ahead of her.
“Not right now, and not in a bad way. I don’t know. I feel like since I’ve come back from my injury, I’m very much just trying to stay in the moment and be present. Obviously, WrestleMania is heavy on my mind, but I’m not feeling any anxiety or pressure yet. I’m just kind of taking everything day by day and just preparing as best as I can. So no, I don’t feel pressure right now in this moment,” Morgan said.
The composure is striking given the scale of what is in front of her. Morgan earned her WrestleMania spot by winning the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, specifically chose Vaquer as her opponent, and has spent the past several weeks building one of the most heated rivalries of the WrestleMania 42 season — including surviving a backstage attack from the Women’s World Champion that sent both her and Roxanne Perez into concussion protocol just days ago.
Liv Morgan Calls Her Eighth WrestleMania Appearance “Iconic” and Says the Matches Keep Getting Better Every Year
Despite the lack of anxiety, Morgan is not short on pride about what her eighth consecutive WrestleMania represents. Her assessment of the streak was characteristically sharp and self-assured. “Iconic. We’re just going, and we’re just getting better matches every single year,” she said. The combination of confidence and present-moment awareness paints the picture of a performer who has found exactly the right mental framework heading into the biggest night of her career. Morgan has spoken throughout the WrestleMania 42 build about viewing the championship match as the culmination of 11 years of work in WWE — but the absence of pressure she describes suggests she is not carrying that history as a burden so much as using it as fuel.
With WWE reporting strong internal optimism that Morgan will be medically cleared following her concussion protocol scare, the path to her WrestleMania 42 moment against Vaquer appears to be clearing. Night One of WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, airing live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally.
