Giulia’s absence from WrestleMania 42 is more significant than it initially appeared. During a Self Made session on April 13, Self Made Pro revealed that the WWE Women’s United States Champion had been included in earlier versions of the WrestleMania 42 card before being removed — and went further to reveal exactly what match had been planned for her.
“She’s not at Mania. She was on the card like a month and a half ago — but she was on it. In fact, in one of the versions of Mania, it was going to be her, Jordynne, and Tiffany in a three-way,” the report stated.
The planned match would have placed Giulia in a significant position on the biggest show of the year, competing for or involving the Women’s United States Championship in a three-way against Jordynne Grace and Tiffany Stratton. The removal of that match has left all three performers without a WrestleMania 42 spot, making it one of the more notable casualties of the numerous card changes that Tony Khan acknowledged affected this pay-per-view cycle more than almost any other in recent memory.
Giulia’s WrestleMania Removal Came After She Showed Up to Training “Very Banged Up” Following Her SmackDown Match
The context behind Giulia’s removal from the card is significant given what was reported earlier about her physical condition. Following her WWE SmackDown match in late March, her personal trainer revealed she had shown up to training “very banged up” with full-body pain including her lower back, knees, hips, and shoulders — requiring a completely overhauled workout session focused on recovery rather than conditioning. While the trainer framed the situation as post-match soreness rather than a specific injury, the combination of physical wear and the extremely tight timeline heading into WrestleMania clearly factored into the decision to remove her from the card.
Tiffany Stratton has also been open about not knowing her WrestleMania plans, telling interviewers she has heard rumors but has not been officially informed of any match. With Giulia now confirmed as having been removed from earlier card iterations and the Grace-Giulia-Stratton three-way scrapped, all three performers will be watching WrestleMania 42 from the sidelines despite a significant amount of storyline investment in their SmackDown women’s title picture in recent weeks.
