Liv Morgan has been unsparing in how she has approached the build to her Women’s World Championship match against Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 — and she was equally unsparing in describing her strategy to PAPER Magazine’s Isai Rocha. Morgan has deliberately pushed the feud into deeply personal territory, using Spanish language confrontations and pointed attacks on Vaquer’s family to generate genuine heat between two performers who, as she acknowledges, had no prior history.
“I love it, because honestly, Stephanie and I really have no business together other than: I want your championship. And so I think that we’ve made it really personal and really physical. They know we do not like each other. I think they know it’s on site when we see each other. Like, I’m talking about her mother. I called her mother trash last week,” Morgan said.
Liv Morgan Heads Into WrestleMania 42 Having Survived Concussion Protocol and a Head Hematoma From a Vaquer Attack
The feud has extended well beyond words in its final weeks. Vaquer’s backstage attack on the April 6 Raw — which sent Morgan crashing into Roxanne Perez and left both in concussion protocol with hematomas on their foreheads — added a genuinely physical dimension to what was already one of the most intense rivalries on the WrestleMania 42 card. WWE subsequently reported strong internal optimism that Morgan would be cleared in time for Las Vegas, and she responded to Vaquer’s taunting with a defiant social media message vowing that her opponent would have to kill her to keep her down. Morgan challenges Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42 Night One on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
